Healthy Kids
Recognizing the importance of foundational physical literacy, the Healthy Kids Programme was designed to introduce primary school children of the age 3 to 10 to structured physical activity. The initiative aligns with the objective of cultivating lifelong habits of fitness, enhancing early-stage cognitive and motor development, and laying the groundwork for identifying athletic talent.
It is being implemented in government and aided schools across the state, the programme integrates scheduled fitness sessions, fun games, and age-appropriate exercises into the school routine. Teachers are oriented and trained to deliver these modules effectively, supported by monitoring tools and fitness assessments. Government is planning to expand this project to all schools through CSR/MLA-ADS funds.
By integrating sports and movement into early education, the programme creates a culture of wellness and physical activity from the ground up. The initiative also bridges the gap between play and organized sport, supporting early diagnosis of athletic potential.
The initiative has significantly contributed to the holistic development of students by fostering growth in both academic and sports domains. Enhanced physical activity has not only strengthened their immunity and physical awareness but also positively impacted their classroom performance, creating a well-rounded foundation for their overall development.
